If you are looking for an answer to the question “What Is Combination Forecast Bet?” then you are on the right page.

What Is A Combination Forecast?

A combination forecast bet allows you to make more than the standard two selections and combine them, hence the name, the combination forecast bet.

One of the potentially profitable forecast bets in sports betting is the combination forecast. Picking out a straight forecast or even a reverse forecast with two selections is tough.

We won’t waste your time, and on this page we’ll give you an example of the bet, we’ll explain and show you how many selections the bet has and the cost of the bet based on different stakes and the no of selections you have in your bet.

HOW MANY COMBINATIONS DOES A Combination Forecast BET HAVE?

The Combination Forecast is a unique bet as it can contain up to six selections and up to 30 combinations. In the table below, you can see how many combinations there are 3, 4, 5 or 6 selections.

NO OF SELECTIONSNO OF COMBINATIONS
36
412
520
630

Calculating the number of combinations is easy. You multiply the number of selections by the preceding number.

  • 3 Selections give you 3 x 2 = 6 bets
  • 4 selections give you 4 x 3 = 12 bets
  • 5 selections give you 5 x 4 = 20 bets
  • 6 selections give you 6 x 5 = 30 best

HOW MUCH DOES A COMBINATION FORECAST BET COST?

Depending on your betting style and how much you budget will decide how much a Combination Forecast will cost. You can do these bets for smaller or larger stakes depending on your budget.

Don’t forget that you should only bet amounts you can comfortably afford to lose.

Check out the table below, which shows you how much it costs for a Combination Forecast bet.

HOW TO PLACE A COMBINATION FORECAST BET ON HORSE RACING

The first step in placing a combination forecast bet on any sport is to first get yourself set up with an account on your favourite sportsbook. Signing up with one of the reputable and licenced betting brands like William Hill, Betfred, Bet365, Boylesports and others means you know your funds are secure.

Once you have your account set up and have made your first deposit, then you are ready to start placing your combination forecast bets and other sports wagers.

And don’t forget, all of the major sportsbooks have welcome offers for new customers.

In the example below, we are using the William Hill website to show how to place a combination forecast bet on horse racing.

Step 1. Open your bookie site

Go to the website at William Hill and select Horses from the list of sports in the left side menu.

Step 3. Find the horse meeting you want to bet on

Scroll down to the section with all of the race meetings and races and make sure you select “Today” as shown in the image above.

Step 4. Select your horses and add to the betslip

For our example of how to place a combination forecast bet, we are going to be using the 4.20 at Dundalk.

So in the above combination forecast bet we have picked three horses, The Cola Brasil, Bronze River and Numoor.

These three selections give us six forecast bets (or combinations).

  • The Cola Brasil & Bronze River
  • Bronze River & The Cola Brasil
  • The Cola Brasil & Numoor
  • Numoor & The Cola Brasil
  • Bronze River & Numoor
  • Numoor & Bronze River

So, it does not matter which of our three horses finish first and second, and it does not matter in which order, as long as two of our three horses are placed first and second, we have a winning bet.

This combination forecast bet has three selections, but you are not limited to three?

No, you can actually have as many horses as is in the race, but that would probably defeat the object, as their could be hundreds of combinations if it was a big handicap race.

So the more horses you add to your betting slip, the more combinations you will have, and the the higher the cost of your bet.

If we are talking about combination forecast bet strategy, then for small field races then choosing 3 or 4 horses works well, while in the big fields handicaps then having 5 or 6 selections makes sense.

Step 5. Click on the option for multiple bet types and enter your stake in the combination forecast box.

Our bet is for a £1 stake and our combination forecast has six bets for a total stake of £6.

I am a total sports fan, in particular horse racing, football and golf, and have been writing about these and other sports for a number of years. I have had the chance to attend many of the biggest horse racing events in my time and my sporting claim to fame has to be winning the inaugural RacingTV Tipstar contest back in 2014. When not watching or writing about sports and sports betting I like to take an interest in cryptocurrency, and last but not least spending time and playing with my two young grandchildren.
