How To Check Bets on William Hill

What Does Suspended Mean on William Hill?

A suspended market means that you cannot place bets on that particular selection for a period of time. Reasons for the suspension of a market vary, but, according to William Hill, markets are usually suspended when “something of significance” has or may occur.

At William Hill, the following instances are considered to be significant events.

Cash In is not available for bets placed on a suspended market. Moreover, you may find that the odds are different when the market returns.

What Does Open Bet Mean?

An open bet at William Hill refers to an ongoing wager that has yet to settle. You can view current open bets by clicking on the My Bets tab once you’ve logged into your account.

Moreover, the Open Bets section at William Hill keeps you up to date with the latest scorelines across each of your in-play bets. Should your bet be void, won, lost, or have any other outcome applied, you’ll notice it here first.

You may notice some bets are visible both in the Cash In and Open sections of William Hill. This means your in-play bets can be Cashed In. When your bet settles, it will move to the Settled area of the My Bets tab.

What Does Void Mean?

A void bet will no longer payout. Typically, in the instance that an event has been abandoned or postponed, your stake is returned to your William Hill account wallet and your wager will settle as Void in your betting history.

As such, your bet will neither win nor lose.

However, there are certain circumstances under which you may still win. For example; you bet on the first goalscorer market. If the first goalscorer is the player you picked, you’ll receive your winnings regardless of later abandonment.

This is in contrast to bets placed on the Correct Score market. If you were to wager on the final scoreline reading 1-0 and the match is abandoned at any point – even during any additional time after 90 minutes of play – the bet will be void.

Events that are played within 48 hours of postponement will not be void. Similarly, matches in the following competitions that receive a new playing date within 48 hours of being postponed won’t be made void:
