Eusebio, Pele, Bobby Moore, Johan Cruyff, Gerd Muller, Roberto Baggio, Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, and Maradonna. They are all names that are etched in the history of the World Cup and football in general and have bought football fans many moments of magic and flair. Who could ever forget the overhead kick from Pele, the amazing twists, turns, and nutmegs from Johan Cruyff, and of course the infamous hand of god from that genius footballer Maradonna.
Every fan has their favourite player and club, but this is the World Cup and it is one of the only sporting events on the globe that brings together people of a nation as they cheer on their home team.
The World Cup really is a true test of a footballer’s skills, heck, many players will not even get the chance to savour a World Cup Finals, so when it comes around it is no wonder the fans go crazy for the tournament with viewing figures from the last World Cup estimated at 3.57 billion people across the whole tournament.
This year sees the 22nd FIFA World Cup Finals which are fittingly taking place in the year 2022.

Of course, the Brazilians and the Germans each have great records in the modern game, but France is an incredibly strong side with the likes of Mbappe, Pogba, Griezmann, and Benzema at their disposal, while the Netherlands seem to be building a strong team once again and the Germans will also be a force.
It is likely that we will see two of the greatest players to ever grace a football field make their final appearances at a World Cup Finals. Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo are likely to hang up their World Cup shooting boots after this year’s tournament.

2022 FIFA WORLD CUP VENUES
This year’s World Cup Finals takes place in Qatar and is the first time the tournament has been played during the latter months of the year. This is due to the extreme heat that would be encountered by the players if it was held in a traditional May, June, or July slot.
The tournament will be spread across 5 host cities with the capital Doha being one and the other four being Lusail, Al-Khor, Al-Rayyan, and Al-Wakrah.
DOHA
Doha has two stadiums each with a capacity of 40,000 and they are the Stadium 974 and the Al Thumama Stadium.
LUSAIL
Lusail has one venue and this is the Lusail Iconic Stadium which houses a capacity of 80,000 and will be the venue for the final on the 18th of December 2022.
AL KHOR
Al Khor has one venue seating 60,000 spectators and is one of the only stadiums with a retractable roof.
AL RAYYAN
Al Rayyan also has one venue and this is the Al Janoub Stadium which holds 40,000 spectators.
AL WAKRAH
Al Wakrah is the city with the most stadiums and has three venues including the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium which has a capacity of 44,740. The Education City Stadium has a capacity of 43,350 and finally the Khalifa International Stadium which holds 40,000 spectators.

Of course, we are still a few months from the tournament itself but of course, the main “Outright Winner” market is already formed after the draw took place in early April.
OUTRIGHT WINNER
You can place bets on the outright winner as well as each-way bets at 1/2 the odds for finishing as the winner or runner-up. The current Top 10 in the market are below.

WORLD CUP STATS
Placing bets on football is becoming more of an art rather than just knowledge as there are so many data analysis tools available now including this great set of football data and stats from the 2018 tournament.
Below are just a couple of examples
GOALS PER GAME
Belgium who played 7 games at the last tournament managed an average of 2.14 goals per game. Armed with this type of data, we can expect a certain level of certainty that Belgium would be scoring 2+ goals per game.
Belgium plays Canada in their opening fixture of the 2022 World Cup and if we can confidently expect Belgium to have too much quality for Canada. They are a restrictive 30/100 to win the game but you can bet the Over/Under goals market at 3/4 for over 2.5 goals which looks pretty likely.
TOURNAMENT CARDS
A market that most bookmakers will offer nearer the time of the tournament and a market most punters will not look at, but armed with the right data you make an informed decision of value based on the data.
In the last World Cup there were 147 yellow cards with the main culprits being Panama with 11, the Korean Republic with 10, and Serbia with 9.
In the last World Cup there were just 3 red cards during the whole tournament. Again great data to make a judgement on in that market.
