How To Place Bets on SportingBet

As one of the most welcoming online sports betting platforms in the industry, SportingBet boasts an arsenal of bet-types to cater to players of all interests. The site is home to an array of popular sports odds and markets, covering the likes of:

  • Football
  • Cricket
  • Horse Racing
  • Golf
  • Basketball
  • Tennis

Newly registered users can take advantage of SportingBet’s welcome offer by depositing using an eligible payment method upon creating an account. You can use this offer to get a boost at the beginning of your SportingBet journey, with plenty of bonuses refreshed throughout the year.

Here, you’ll discover how to place all kinds of bets at SportingBet. Starting with smaller bet-types, like singles, we’ll gradually take you through everything you need to know when it comes to betting on the sportsbook.

How To Place a Bet

Before jumping into a bet, be sure to check out each sport available on SportingBet via the A-Z sports menu. Use this extensive list to find the sport best suited to you – preferably one you’re already knowledgeable on.

Once you’ve picked a sport, it’s time to choose a market. When starting off as a bettor, we recommend opting for an outcome in the “To Win” market but feel free to bet on other markets if you’re feeling particularly daring.

To add an outcome to your bet slip, simply click on the odds. For example, let’s say you were to bet on a football match between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium with the away side being your predicted winners. In this instance, you’d click on the odds listed next to the number “2” to bet on Liverpool as victors. To view other markets in that event, click on the event itself.

You should see a red sphere with the number “1” enclosed at the bottom of your screen above the Betslip icon after clicking on the odds for Liverpool to beat Arsenal. This means SportingBet has accepted your request to add the bet to your betslip.

Click on your bet slip icon to see your bet. Here, you can examine the current odds, add a stake or delete your selection if you change your mind. Starting from the top of the bet slip, you’ll see that your wager sits under the “Single” heading. Directly beside that header are two more areas of the bet slip: Multi and System – we’ll discuss these later.

A small cog sits below your selection’s odds. Select it to accept changing odds, receive notifications via SMS and email, or enter a stake.

The standard way to input a stake is by using the stake box in the bottom right-hand corner of the bet slip. When you click on this box, you’ll be met with several pre-set amounts to wager and a keypad to personalize your stake. Once you’re content with the stake, press the green “Place Bet” button to confirm your wager. Depending on whether or not you’ve accepted price changes, your bet may go through immediately, or you may be asked to accept different odds.

To summarize:

  • Pick a sport
  • Select a market
  • Choose an outcome from that market and add it to your betslip
  • Enter a stake
  • Confirm your wager by pressing “Place bet”

How To Place an Accumulator Bet

Accumulators are like singles, just with a larger selection of bets. Rather than just betting on one outcome, you’ll bet on at least four. It’s also worth noting that you can only bet on one market when creating an accumulator. Mixing markets is not possible for this bet-type.

Get started by picking a sport. It’s easiest to opt for a sport where there are multiple events taking place simultaneously, as you can keep up to date with all the latest scores at the same time. Moreover, it prevents the potential frustration that can arise when the earlier events come good, only for the later one to let you down.

From that sport, SportingBet should offer a vast range of markets to choose from. Pick any you like the look of, with all of the following available:

  • Total Goals
  • Both Teams to Score
  • Set Winners
  • Bookings

And many more. Add at least four outcomes to your bet slip, then take a look at your selection inside the slip. If, for instance, you chose to make a football accumulator, you’d see all four (or more) of your bets within your bet slip under the “Multi” heading.

When ready, enter a stake in the box provided. Press “Place Bet” to proceed with your acca and, after a short processing period, your bet should go through.

To recap:

  • Choose a sport
  • Pick a market
  • Add four or more bets from that market to your betslip
  • Open your betslip and enter a stake
  • Confirm your accumulator by pressing “Place Bet”

How To Place an Accumulator Bet on the App

The SportingBet app works in much the same way as the website. The only noticeable difference between the two is the size of your screen – and even then, those of you that play on tablets might not notice a particularly big change.

Like the website, you’ll pick a sport from the A-Z menu or by viewing the highlights on the homepage. The app is packed with all the same great sports and markets you’ll find on the browser version of the sportsbook, so you’ll be able to bet on your favourite events on the go.

After tapping on a sport, sift through the markets. Choose one to create an accumulator on, then add a minimum of four bets to your bet slip by tapping on the odds. A small red bar should briefly show up at the bottom of your screen to provide an overview of your current odds after each pick.

Tap on the bet slip icon to view your selection. Again, there are three headings, with accumulators found under “Multi”. The bet slip looks the same as the one on the desktop; from the layout of your selection, total odds, possible winnings to the stake box – it’s identical.

Tap on the stake box to bring up SportingBet’s keypad. Alternatively, tap one of the pre-set options to wager the following amounts on your acca:

  • £5
  • £10
  • £20
  • £50
  • £100

Tap “Place Bet” to confirm your app accumulator.

A quick summary:

  • Open the app and select a sport
  • Pick one market to bet on
  • Add at least four bets from that market to your betslip
  • Tap the betslip icon
  • Input a stake in the box provided
  • Place your app acca by pressing “Place Bet”

How To Bet on Multiples

Multiples betting is the next step up from wagering on accumulators. The basic idea of multiples is closely aligned with that of accas, as only a few adjustments separate the pair.

One notable differentiating factor is the sheer number of multiple bet types. SportingBet lets you play around with all kinds of bets – some of which host hundreds of outcomes across a variety of selections.

Now that you know how to place bets, take that information and use it to place multiples on SportingBet. Be mindful of the potential losses that may be incurred from multiples, as these wagers are high-risk, high reward.

Some of the multiples we discuss in this section can be found under the “System” heading in your bet slip, while others may be present in the “Multi” area. Be sure to check both categories so you don’t miss out on any bet-types you want to check out.

Opening up with doubles and trebles, we’ve broken down SportingBet’s multiples here.

You may find some or all of these multiple bet-types tempting to try out. However, knowing your limits is just as, if not more important as knowing which bet to place and how much to wager. At SportingBet, you can set bet limits, restrict deposits and ensure that your gambling remains under control.

How To Change Odds Format

Everyone has a personal preference when it comes to choosing an odds format. For many, switching from decimal to fractional and vice versa is a game-changer.

That’s why selecting the format you’re most comfortable with shouldn’t be overlooked. If you’ve ever found yourself bewildered by the numbers, decimal points and fractions displayed on SportingBet – fret no longer. Below, we’ve outlined how to change the odds format on the sportsbook.

First up, you should click on your Profile icon. This will cause the My Account menu to appear in the centre of your screen. This menu is packed with several links to different sections of the website.

Scroll down until you see a heading titled “Account”. Here, there are six options to select:

  • My Promos
  • My Bets
  • My Betting Settings
  • My Sports & Gaming History
  • My Account Details
  • Help & Contact

Click “My Betting Settings” to be transferred to a new page. At the top of this page are four more headings:

  • UK (Fractional)
  • EU (Decimal)

Having chosen your desired format, click “Save” to confirm your changes. The switch to a new format will take place immediately.

You can return to this page to change betting settings for other services, like Cash Out. Any new settings will update accordingly and you can see your changes take effect upon checking bets via the My Bets area. For a detailed look at How To Check Bets on SportingBet, head over to our complete guide on the topic.

Now You’ve Placed a Bet, Can It Be Cashed Out?

To cash out or not to cash out? That is the question. An age-old debate that takes place in every punter’s head in the middle of a bet, settling a bet early is rarely done without reason.

SportingBet lets you cash out quickly by offering a quick cash-out option in the Betting Settings menu. With this, you can accept any price change during the processing time of your cash out on the site, so there’s no need to retry over and over again until the price remains still.

Unique & Special Markets on SportingBet

SportingBet appears more than willing to not only fit in with the crowd but also stand out from it. The sportsbook does this by loading up on the most popular sports betting markets across the most-viewed and beloved sports, with a few twists and turns to make bets on otherwise standard markets feel extravagant and unique.

One example of this is the Acca Builder. Here, you have one of the most basic premises in the world of sports betting enhanced and improved upon by presenting information in a digestible, user-friendly way. You can create accumulators with matches from top football leagues, like the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and more, with insight you might not find on competitors’ platforms.

In addition, SportingBet has designed a Build A Bet feature that does two things:

  • Build A bet by customizing your selection

OR

  • Add a pre-set Build A Bet to your betslip.

Say goodbye to the days of toing and froing between markets just before kick-off. At SportingBet, you can take someone else’s Build A Bet and use it. If you decide to take to the road alone and personalize a wager, there are a plethora of markets to get through. This includes:

  • Match winners
  • Goals scored
  • Corners
  • Exact score
  • Woodwork hit

Chop and change your Build A Bet on SportingBet using bets from any of the listed headings:

  • Popular
  • Match
  • Teams
  • Players

When prepared to place your Build A Bet wager, add your selection to your bet slip by clicking “Add To Betslip” in the green button. From there, you can place your bet like any other wager.
